Let's think about this - the guy that broke this story is 23, has zero experience in anything. Has zero experience in day care. Decided to produce this video to act all creepy and weird around Somali people because of how much the Infowars crowd hates Minnesota rep Ilhan Omar. This gets picked up by whoever (Infowars or Tucker Carlson, probably), then gets circulated to Fox and somehow this one story causes Trump to literally shut down daycare funding for not one, but ALL 50 states? And now they have to prove their loyalty to his worthless ass to get that funding back?
Something about this whole thing isn't adding up.

(12,988 posts)Moved to Minneapolis last May to be near his 3 yr old daughter. He has been paying child support in CA and told them (Minneapolis) he moved and they are so screwed up they sent the money back to CA, CA sent back to Minneapolis which said no and sent him a check for all of it.
Meanwhile his ex had no money and he couldnt afford to give her any and if he did it wouldnt come off his balance unless paid through state. He is still trying to fix.
My daughter had long talk with his ex who was upset she had no money for anything, she just went ahead and bought her everything she asked for in list.
It is very messed up there, not sure why.

(5,912 posts)This has been bubbling since 2022, there's already been dozens of cases through the legal system.
Shirley took advantage of a known state level problem, wrapped it up and presented it in a way that MAGAs would want to hear it, and made it a national issue.
The problem is that the fraud itself is real and embarrassingly large. The biggest blame for all this should go on the voters for eliminating the state Treasurer office. Essential oversight was missing because of this, which allowed the fraud to grow to a painful scale before anything was done.
This is going to bubble and churn, and copycats are going to be found in other states.
The best course of action I see is this - join in with rooting this out. Stop trying to downplay it and try to have as much influence over the investigation as possible. Also try to put focus on who helped set this up, and where the money went. This isn't an immigrant driven problem - it's an organized crime problem. Following where the money went will help expose who all was pulling the strings. There are tidbits that suggest islamic fundamentalist organizations were behind some of this, and I think more will be found to solidify that link.

(15,337 posts)They took something that already was dealt with, by the federal and state officials that happened to be Democrats, and that had been covered by the media locally and nationally, and went off on their boiler plate rage models to defame the Minnessota governor and go on their usual libs/dens this libs/dems that screeds. 99% of the zombie base now believes what they have been told to believe about it, regardess of whatever actual facts about it that you might put in front of them, and of course pile on with their beloved nativism.
