When Will We.....?
I keep seeing posts here that begin that way, and then say something that we "should do," or something more general and unnamed.
We should do...but when will we...and what is it exactly that we should do?
If people write posts like that, they are automatically including themselves in the "we." So, perhaps instead of leaving it open-ended, how about saying what you want "we" to do, exactly. What do you propose? Can you explain why what you propose is the best approach to solving whatever problem you're talking about.
Be specific if you think "something" should be done. Name it. Explain it.
If you are really just saying, "Somebody (else) should do something..." tell us what that something might be and how they should do it.
I thought we should elect Kamala Harris in 2024. I did say why. I encouraged people to campaign for her. "We" did not elect her. Some of us did vote for her. Others did not. Still others did not vote at all.
How are "we" going to do something in the future if "we" haven't done something in the past?
The verb is the operant word and the description of the action is the plan. Don't just go halfway with your suggestion.
Tell us what "You" WILL do, not what "We" SHOULD do.
Thanks.
