Regarding War

"It is easier to start a war than to end one.” – Gabriel García Márquez (One Hundred Years of Solitude)

Some of here remember when the great Colombian author's line became popular among the anti-war population. Others will become more familiar with it in the upcoming months. Not a high intensity conflict, but an on-going violence that is impossible to control.

Trump will refuse to concede this was a bad idea and will just feed more American kids into a pointless war in the jungle.

And Trump started it.

But he won't end it. I hope it may end him.

That's what I was thinking... it's going to turn
into some form of guerilla conflict.

If Trump says the USA will run Venezuela,
how will they do it?

I expect it will take a large military presence
there, certainly.

Now what kind of people will comprise thatt
force?

Will they be bankrupt farmers? Will they
all have to be white recruits forced to join
because their lives have been ruined by
Magat polices?

Does this mean it will a kind of forced
expatriation of the poor in our country?

And what will this mean for the Venezuelans?

None of it seems likely to turn out well for
anybody.

What Fiona Hill told the Brookings Institution:

I myself, back in 2019, had a rather bizarre experience when I was in government where the Russians proposed a swap for Ukraine and Venezuela. Suggesting that as Venezuela — we were having a crisis with Venezuela, at the time after Nicolas Maduro was, you know, basically trying to stay in power indefinitely — that if we pulled out of Ukraine, they would pull out of Venezuela where they’d sent in some security people to help prop up Maduro. And it just reinforced the way that they think. And we should not play into that way of thinking.

And now that Trump has put We the People on the hook for Iran’s liberation, Bibi’s happy, too.
