Have we forgotten that if you punch someone without provocation

they are generally entitled to punch you back? I don't expect squadrons of war planes or warships to darken the horizon. Venezuela can't muster that kind of retaliation.

But Ukraine's response to Russia has demonstrated a lot about asymmetric warfare as a successful strategy against supposedly overwhelming force weilded against you.

Do you think Venezuelan patriotism is of baser stuff than American patriotism? Do you think no one in Caracas wants to punch us back?

The oligarch-owned, sycophant-edited, sane-washing, quiet-piggy, Trump tongue-bathing United States media? That media?

The US is way stronger than Russia, Venezuela is weaker than Ukraine, and Maduro was hated by most of his people.

34% disapprove of Maduro. Some 65% of exiles disapprove of him, but that only adds a few points to the 34%.

I base this on a post earlier here at DU.

None of us, whether we agreed with the Iraq war (I did not) or disagreed with it, would deny that it was a good thing that Saddam Hussein was no longer in power.

No, the real problem with that was, in terms of our invasion of Iraq, literally every other single god damn thing about it but that... especially the lies that got us into it and the complete lack of a competent plan to restabilize the country after doing that.
