A 33-year old resident of a local trailer park armed with an AK-47 assault rifle and apparently high on methamphetamines, went on a shooting spree south of Heflin Saturday morning that left three dead, two injured and a 30-40 mile chase involving 11 or more agencies and scores of law enforcement officers and first responders.

Cleburne County Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Dennis Green said the situation unfolded when the suspect, Romero Roberto Moya, 33, fired rounds from an AK-47, killing his three brothers, in his residence in the Guzman Trailer Park south of Heflin off Highway 9.

According to Green, Moya shot his brothers Lorenzo Moya, 36, Miguel Moya, 23, Ismael Moya, 17, and injured a 19-month-old boy - the shooter’s son
