divided and polarized over so many issues?

Have we become too large for Lincoln's dream of a people's government and MLK's "I Have A Dream"?

Heaven help me if the answer is "YES" because that would be a nightmare come true.

the meaning of our Constitution's statement "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government"?

Many who've written on that topic suggest that 200k is about the upper limit on size of a republic.

Don't know the answer but I've studied violent crime rates as a function of metro population and it goes up as metro population increases.

Perhaps one way to reduce violent crime is prohibit metro populations over 25k or so?
