In light of the "fiscal cliff", I recall Rush Limpbutt saying something about another "fiscal

crisis".

At the time, in the late 90s, the Republicans were trying to force Clinton to bend to their will. (I know, I know, same theme, different president).

Rush Limbaugh, preaching to the choir, was saying (essentially) "Hey, the President's budget and the Republicans' budget are virtually identical, so why doesn't he" (inferring surrender) "just sign theirs?"

And, at the time, I thought ... well, if they're so "virtually identical", then why are the Republicans fighting so hard to "win" this one?
