23. This is by far among the least offensive and controversial things he has done so far...

Airliners like AF1s are typically repainted every 7 to 10 years anyway to allow for thorough inspection for hidden structural corrosion, etc. And, given the nature of AF1s they could be repainted at a shorter interval.

So, in the 6 decades of flying the iconic Kennedy-era colors we can guess they have been repainted 8 or more times.

Painting a Boeing 747 typically costs between $175,000 and $300,000 depending on the scheme, so it is not probably a crazy expense compared to the between $20,000 and $40,000 per hour they typically require to operate.

At the end of the world, one of the very last things we will care about is the paint scheme of AF1--and it is guaranteed to be but a tiny footnote in the list of things he will be remembered for.....
