(37,843 posts)This is a repeat of the Flying Squads of the 1981 Governor's race. True story - Roger Stone is still alive, which means he can the Magapubs his playbook. If any state needs a voter defense force - it's NJ.

(108,186 posts)We vote and leave. Nobody hangs around for the ambiance. And also, we fucking hate Donald Trump and we want him fired, there's no conspiracy here. Move along, assholes.

(52,889 posts)The biggest problems we had were always with right wing douche bags wanting to stir up shit. If the police were ever called it was a right wing asshole with a sign or causing a problem.
Most people wanted to vote and go to work or go home for dinner. Sometimes a couple might talk about the weather, or so-and-so built a new garage.

(52,889 posts)Before working polls, I was a poll watcher (we are allowed one from each major party). On one occasion, a mid 30's man who spent way too much time listening to AM radio and watching YouTube conspiracies was a poll watcher for the GOP. He had no idea how the system actually worked. Yet he had been convinced that it was all rigged.
After an hour or so of observing, he came over to me and said something like, "well this runs pretty smooth." DUH!
I guess he was expecting to find hordes of brown people voting with fake IDs. Or teenagers voting for their dead grandparents.
I wanted to tell him that the biggest problem is the people in his party making it harder for working class citizens and veterans to vote. But I doubt that would have made any sense to him.

(15,763 posts)I voted in person. When someone gets in my face and tells me how to vote and I have a pencil or a pen in my hand its time to improvise.
Justice matters.
(9,584 posts)It's to target every 'not white' voter and 'kidnap' them on the spot before they cast a vote, and send them to their Human-Rights violating "warehouse" prisons, never to be seen again.

(20,693 posts)Since there's a record of ICE taking immigrants who are here legally, many will just stay home and not take the chance.
Cruelty is the whole point.
