No Republican should EVER be able to live down their blind support of Trump or be forgiven for letting Trump destroy our democracy.
I still don't think individual Republicans are taking enough heat for what Trump has done.

(26,048 posts)and then walked out together right as the ugly fascist started speaking. They might even wear or carry a sign saying "Say no to fascism." Or "Say no to dictatorship" since so many people don't even understand what fascism is.
They would never do it, I'm sure. But I recall that Pelosi had the nerve to rip up a speech full of lies.
I remember that. Actions do speak louder than words. In a way, if the Democratic leadership did walk out can you imagine the toddler having a tantrum and embarrassing GQP 'ers.

(26,048 posts)blue states and a huge controversy over which side was right would ensue.
So, would it be an effective act that would enhance democracy? Probably not.
Maybe it would be more effective to show up but call out lies on the spot with gestures or a word or two. Remember a RWer yelling "lies" at Obama's SOU? Or the challenge that MAGAs tried to give Biden when Biden turned it back around on them? The toddler is not quick thinking enough to do what Biden did. He would just have a tantrum instead.

(1,526 posts)I feel like most of them still support this.
I have an (ex) friend who has now reached the 'Trump-is-god' stage of his life. There is nothing that Trump can do that would convince him otherwise. Jim Jones had similar control and influence over people but thankfully it was on a much smaller scale. Trumpism will not go down quietly.

(8,230 posts)I have family who went full Trump as soon as he started running. They viewed him as the paragon of success and virtue, and the Fox/OANN/Newsmax echo chamber just made it so that any dissenting opinion, of any kind, was branded as treason. You can't fix willful stupidity and people who want to be stupid are beyond repair.

Grudges are politically dumb, not to mention effectively immoral. We should always be looking in the mirror. Always. If we have a better plan, and people don't seem to want to follow it, immediately trashing them instead of reviewing our sales approach or maybe even our plan is just plain foolish.

Damn straight.

That may be the worst post I have ever read here. My apologies if you meant it as a parody.
