Seems like if Iran is trying to close the Strait they'd bump into our ships. Anybody hear anything else?

(22,696 posts)1. Iran is not stupid enough to try going ship to ship with the US Navy
They will use mines, land based missiles and small attack boats against traffic in the Strait

https://www.businessinsider.com/satellite-images-show-iranian-warship-burning-after-us-israel-strikes-2026-2
'New satellite imagery shows an Iranian warship burning pierside following widespread US and Israeli airstrikes.
The imagery, collected Saturday by US spatial intelligence firm Vantor and obtained by Business Insider, shows some of the initial aftermath of the joint US and Israeli attack on Iran, a major combat operation against Tehran after the collapse of talks on nuclear weapons.
The Vantor images show a frigate burning at the Konarak naval base in southern Iran. A large billow of smoke can be seen rising from the wounded vessel.'

(8,186 posts)3. There's satellite images of a docked Iranian naval vessel on fire
with corresponding damage to the naval base. Looks like it was done from the air, though.
The Iranians haven't closed the strait through naval action. They have done so de facto by warning commercial vessels that the conditions would be dangerous.
