I read a WP article saying that it was quite rare for children under 6 to be killed by guns.

Nationwide, it has taken four months for the gun deaths of children under the age of 10 to equal the number killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

On Sept. 1, Kahlil Singleton, 8, was fatally shot in Hilton Head, S.C., while playing in his grandmother’s front yard. The boy was caught in the crossfire of a neighborhood feud involving several adults. A month later, Jorge Duran III, 3, was shot and killed by his father in the family’s apartment near Toledo, Ohio. The boy’s mother also was slain. And earlier this month, Ryder Rozier, 3, accidentally shot and killed himself in Logan County, Okla., with a gun he found on a nightstand in his uncle’s house. His uncle is an Oklahoma state trooper.

from lung cancer related to radon exposure...

...compared to 12,998 people murdered in 2010 by any and all means.

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2010/crime-in-the-u.s.-2010/tables/10shrtbl08.xls

Please check your basement for radon. Your state health department will have testing kits for a minimal fee. Anything above 4 picoCuries per liter puts you at grave risk for lung cancer.

I would also suggest quitting smoking this year... as 443,000 people die every year from an obscenely easy to prevent condition. Most states also have a quit smoking program and often supply the first nicotine patch step for free.

"More deaths are caused each year by tobacco use than by all deaths from human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle injuries, suicides, and murders combined."

Have a happy new year.

they weren't toddlers. A toddler is aged 1 to 3. And those children are dead because of Adam Lanza.

I'm certainly an advocate of greater gun control, but this is is just a bullshit post.
