Seen before, but worth revisiting:

“Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron.” --President Dwight D. Eisenhower

It's pretty clear tRump didn't get the memo. Or maybe he did, and thought, "Hmmm, another way to f*ck people over..."

Eisenhower may be the last honorable Republican we’ll see for quite some time.

He was what no other Republican has ever been… a President for ALL Americans. All the rest were partisan to the bone, and in the bag for the Military Industrial Complex and the Titans of Industry.
My Great-Granny had a picture of FDR and a picture of Ike on her wall together until she died in 1961 (and didn’t yet have her JFK picture).
Somewhere along the line we really lost our way to be living in this time-line where abomination rains all over us and we don’t get the stench.
