EDIT ADD: Watching online @ c-span.org. The video window still carries the title of the book talk that was supposed to be playing: "Just Plain Dick" - hilarious

on their backs at what a good job they did. They dragged the people of this country through the dirt for their petty partisan games and now they are going to want to have us give them kudos for this fiasco.

The Bush tax cuts have already expired.

So now we get to call this what it is.

A massive tax cut, with the rich getting most of the benefits.

To avoid the "cliff" both the senate and the house would have had to pass it before midnight to avoid that arbitrary mark.

In 2 months, we all get treated to another deal which will be another catfight over spending cuts and the debt ceiling about the same time. I predict the cuts to SS/Med will be sacrificed for raising the debt ceiling. This is a gravestone fix, imo.

because the tax cuts for the rich are going for longer than two months.

Not that Obama will apparently ever allow them to expire anyway.

but then again, if 2/3 of the Senate are millionaires, it is not a surprise that they would favor tax cuts for the rich.

Still, it would appear to be time to unsubscribe to Sherrod Brown's email list.
