But it bears repeating. Back when Reaganomics was being floated my very smart father made the observation that "This will not work. Republicans believe you can water a tree by spraying the leaves. Democrats know you've got to water the roots."

It's a shame it took the country 30 years to realize that wisdom.

I think they are willing to vote against what they know are their best interests in order to make sure no brown people get something that they don't.
