Donald Trump:
12:19 p.m.: We want them to come and help us with the Strait.
12:21 p.m.: If we ever needed help, they wont be there for us. Ive just known that for a long period of time.
12:53 p.m.: We have some that are really enthusiastic. Theyre coming already.
12:54 p.m.: This is a need, need would be one of the big boys.
12:55 p.m.: If we need their mine boats or if we need anything, any piece of apparatus that they may have because of a situation that they have, they should be jumping to help us.
12:56 p.m.: My attitude is, we dont need anybody. Were the strongest nation in the world. We have the strongest military by far in the world. We dont need them.
Op: Are you not reassured?

(26,075 posts)How much longer do they pretend and cover up his clear mental decline to crazy fucking nutball?

(44,604 posts)We know every accusation is a confession so theyre doing what they accuse us of. Its that simple. Biden did not have a mental decline and go fucking nuts like this guy did.

(35,018 posts)I know I do, and I don't have dementia and do just fine.
Even the best bridge player at the club said she couldn't
remember names like she used to.
But Trump is a whole different kettle of pond scum, which
is what his brain looks like these days.

(32,957 posts)with selected words. If I just relax and go on with things, the words come to me. I repeat them a few times to set them in my 77 year old brain. That is not dementia. It is normal cognitive decline, just like yours.

(8,775 posts)Our class was split up into small groups that got put into LOCKED WARDS to 'mingle' with the patients. Yeah, those people were certified insane and danger to themselves and others. Got to observe for hours, and speak to several one-on-one.
Frankly, every single one of them made more sense that Donald J. Trump does these days. Even the chap who really though he was God was more reasonable that the current POTUS.
Patients who were certified insane and dangerous by professionals. But in that locked ward, I felt pretty safe because I knew the people there were fairly well medicated and VERY well supervised. They were being 'treated' as best as could be, but were in a situation where they, and others, were basically safe.
Scars the daylights outta me knowing that the guy calling the shots for our military powers is completely mad and unsupervised.

(14,310 posts)The patient I was assigned to was an enormous (300+ lb and tall) woman who scared me (125 lbs dripping wet and 5'2) to death on first meeting but who I grew to like over the 2+ weeks I was there. She made a lot of sense, and a hell of a lot more than Shitler does on his best days. She'd just had a rough life and while I was there they started her on lithium--wow, what a change! I kind of enjoyed my experience there but still put psych nursing at the bottom of my list, along with NICU, when job hunting. Just not for me!

(39,263 posts)They're not coming Donnie. You insulted them, bullied them. Article 5 of the NATO alliance comes in when a member country comes under attack. YOU fucking started this war, so too bad, so sad.

We have no Allies, why should they help us ... or help Chump ... on this sick, self-destructive delusion? Our former Allies will rejoice when he goes down.

(53,173 posts)Go through his rambling rhetoric and replace "we" with "I" and you get a much clearer picture of what he really means. Especially that last comment:
"My attitude is, I dont need anybody. I am the strongest man in the world. I have the strongest military by far in the world. I dont need them.

(1,652 posts)Every single day he demonstrates that he is seriously mentally ill. He's even had people killed for his lies in this ill begotten war on Iran. Dear God - what more would it take?
By the way, with deep respect, I encourage everyone who attends the "No Kings" protest on the 28th to carry signs that say "25th Amendment Now".
Hugs to you all, DU friends. Together we will get through this.

(6,121 posts)Not only does he exhibit clear signs of cognitive decline, but he has been pretty reliably described as suffering from Malignant Narcissism. And goodness knows what other maladies are hidden under that mop he calls his hair. Anyone with a few brain cells and a decent working memory knows that behavior with tRump is changing over time. There are countless videos and interviews with him over decades that show a definite difference in how he spoke and behaved in the past. The filter that kept him sounding more sane has now eroded so he cannot hide his decline. He meanders, gets distracted and contradicts himself often within minutes of making a statement.
It was one thing when he was Donald Trump, businessman and real estate investor to be impulsive and incoherent. But now that he is President of the United States, we are in a whole other territory, We are finding out how different as he stumbles from one crisis and ill timed statement or decision to the next. I have no idea if we can recover from this terrible event of having a man like Trump in charge of so much of our lives as a nation. Admittedly even our day to day personal lives are impacted by his rash and incoherent behavior.
Someone with the knowledge and authority should have put a stop to his presidency long ago. But they did not step up to save us and our country. How much longer this is allowed to continue is the big question. And even bigger? What will follow once he is removed, dies or his term grinds to a stop?

(8,786 posts)isn't helping?
At some point, MSM will stop discussing his strategies, policies and 'mistakes' and will start realizing the constant blunders are because he isn't coherent, wise, knowledgable, patriotic, aware, self-aware, honorable, honest. He comes from a mental and emotional place where good decisions are literally not feasible.
