On Thursday, March 26, were activating the full length of Interstate 35 more than 1,500 miles from northern Minnesota to south Texas in a coordinated rush-hour visibility action. Our goal is to build momentum for No Kings events being held nationwide on the following Saturday.
Democracy Bridge (Minneapolis) is inviting Indivisible, 50501, Visibility Brigade, and other allies to stand in highly visible areas along I-35 on Thursday, March 26 with one shared template message: YES DEMOCRACY - NO KINGS! 3/28
During morning and/or evening rush hour, local groups will display bold signage visible from the freeway, capture short landscape mode (i.e., horizontal format) video and photos, and upload footage to a central site provided by our team. We will compile clips from north to south into one powerful corridor video for national distribution ahead of March 28.

(23,693 posts)I-35 E goes through Dallas and I-35 West goes through Fort Worth.
The two branches merge in Denton, which is directly North of FW.
Traffic is horrendous on 35 in Fort Worth and Dallas during certain times of day.
It takes a turn to the east in the middle of Kansas eventually winding up in Duluth
Indivisible-12 in Tarrant County has a regularly scheduled Bridge Event at 4 PM on 35 every Thursday, so we are already in place. That is a very busy stretch of road, because it is about 5 miles north of Interstate 20. I saw them Thursday. I was headed South on I-35 - there was a nice sized group up there.
Indivisible runs Bridge events on I-20 I-30 and I-35 every week; each is scheduled on a different day and time. There is one more which is far enough east that it could be a Dallas county group .
Our people are definitely going to get out for this one!!! I have not done this yet but I will go to this one; it is close to my house.
Fun fact: In 1963, while constructing an overpass in between Round Rock and Georgetown, Inner Space Cavern was discovered after a space was found more than once at 33 feet (10 m) below grade. A three-foot (0.91 m) hole was drilled into the space and an engineer was lowered into the hole for exploration. Later, the Texas Speleological Association mapped the cavity, and the Texas highway department sealed the hole and completed the Interstate.[9] The cave was eventually opened and developed for public tours. It is a lovely cave with lots of formations.

(2,898 posts)At Burnsville, just south of the twin cities, 35E heads north to Saint Paul and 35W to Minneapolis. The two combine again north of town near Forest Lake, MN.
