Surely the original artist/cartoonist must be long dead?

I fondly remember reading/viewing all the cartoons in the Sunday newspaper for years, but not in a very long time. Yet another thing we are losing along with so much of local news. Sigh... I'd subscribe if there were enough others to bring them back. I still subscribe to the Denver paper, albeit digitally. But, I guess that is a pipedream

Remixed Nancy Bushmiller.

Ernie Bushmiller was the original artist. They have the original font that you can use to make your own strip.
