(23,841 posts)I was in the San Jose/Sunnyvale/etc. area at various times from the mid 70s to late 90s. You could see the destruction of the beautiful orchards and hillsides with development in real time.

El Camino Real was the old Spanish highway from San Diego all the way into Sonoma.
Literally translated as The Royal Road... i.e. the street of Kings.
