Linda McMahon's "History Rocks!" school visits canceled in 4 locations, facing organized protests in 3 others

A planned tour across the US by Education Secretary Linda McMahon is off to a rocky start as school parents either cancel her visits or plan protests against the Donald Trump Cabinet member.

According to the Washington Post, McMahon's "History Rocks!" school visits have already been canceled in at least four locations — including stops in Massachusetts, Alabama, and two in McMahon's home state of Connecticut. Additional events in Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Illinois are facing organized protests.

The core problem: the tour is being sponsored exclusively by conservative and religious organizations, creating an obvious partisan tenor that contradicts claims of nonpartisanship.

The America 250 Civics Education Coalition that backs the tour is led by the America First Policy Institute, a pro-Trump advocacy group, and includes Turning Point USA, Moms for Liberty, and the Heritage Foundation. The coalition deliberately excluded liberal groups and prominent nonpartisan civics organizations like Civx Now, which boasts more than 450 member organizations.

5. Indoctrination of children and the whitewashing of American history

It's bad enough these fascists are destroying our Constitution, suppressing voting rights, attacking civil rights, terrorizing our communities, enriching billionaires at the expense of everyone else, taking away healthcare, poisoning the environment, alienating our longtime allies & trading partners, and waging a senseless costly war -- but they also have to twist every aspect of our culture and try to brainwash children into becoming ignorant narrow minded bigots like them.

7. Another incident of GOP projection

I'm not hearing it as much in Trump's second term, but in his first, there was SO MUCH HOWLING about how DEMOCRATS wanted to "groom" precious little Republican kids and force them into a life of slavery and hell as fabulous drag queens.

The ONLY thought I EVER GAVE to "Republican children" was that it was a shame they had Republicans for parents.

Seems like the "Dems want to groom our kids" thing has given way to "trans athletes want to infiltrate women's sports."

They get people to vote against their own interests.

Now, even their fearmongering and racist dog whistles aren't enough. In order to hold onto power they have to go to great measures to suppress the vote -- or even send ICE to polling places to intimidate and possibly sieze ballots when a Republican apparatchik alleges fraud.
