and it was only right and proper you should serve him a perfectly prepared hot dog, he's important and can't be expected to do it himself. That's what the blank look was all about. You simply didn't register as anyone worthy of his specific notice.

Pity you didn't lace it with senna leaf or other strong laxative.

That hot dog is a metaphor for the GOP's disdain for the common folk.

"It is not patriotic to cut taxes during wartime. We have veterans coming home and no support for them."

Thank you, Representative Neal! I'm the Homeless Veteran Outreach coordinator for my American Legion post, and you are 100% right.

11. That was an important exchange just there.

The Republican took a few seconds and said that the passage of this bill would permanently settle the revenue side of things and that everyone can now focus on "tax reform" and spending cuts.

Levin took a few seconds and responded that the passage of this bill did not mean that the revenue side of things was permanently settled.

This is the entire problem. Democrats that are in favor of this bill assume that it doesn't preclude additional tax revenue from being discussed when the two-month temporary delay ends. Republicans have said this will not be the case; they believe this bill will settle the revenue side of things.

Given the fact that Republicans stick by their guns (no pun intended) more often than Democrats, I'd be willing to bet that there won't be any further meaningful additional tax revenue in the coming months during the sequestration / debt ceiling talks.

And that is why I do not support this bill.

I'm sticking with Pelosi's judgement for now, but I see your point.
