Why can't the government just print more money?

(23,671 posts)But instead of stimulus, where the people actually get to spend it so it improves the economy and ends up eventually in the hands of bankers, our wonderful government decided to cut out the messy middle of that deal and give it straight to the banks.

(3,596 posts)The government over which we, as the people, are supposed to have control - the Congress, the Presidency and the Judiciary have no control over the money supply.
The Federal Reserve, an anonymous "private" banking system controlled by the wealthiest Americans, decides when to print more money. The head of the Fed and the various regional bank "presidents" are subject to Senate confirmation but their actions are not subject to ANY review.
They serve their corporate masters and trust me those masters do not include the 98% of us.
