Caught this gem in the classic movie, "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House"....

At one point he caries his wife over the threshold, on into the living room,....right past the sign saying, "WET VARNISH"...

The guy doing the floor screams, "Why don't you look where you're going!!? Can't you see I'm varnishing this floor!!?"

Blandings says, "Stop painting that floor and put some planks down here or something!"

The worker says, "Okay Mack take it easy, the Republicans aren't in yet, you know!"

A theme that used to be more common.

I've known these types over the years.

They are mystified by things like the complex operation of things like,....a door knob.
