1. That didn't vote for Clinton's deficit reduction plan in 1993.
2. That openly mocked Al Gore for wanting to create a lockbox for Social Security in the 2000 campaign.
3. That voted for Bush's two tax cuts.
4. That voted for Bush's two wars without paying for them.
5. That voted for Bush's prescription drug benefit.
6. That voted for doubling the defense budget in a little over 5 years.
7. That voted to bail out the TBTF banks.
If you did any of these things, you should be disqualified from appearing in the media and decrying the debt and deficit, you are the problem.

"no one in Washington DC actually cares about the deficit".
