So when can we make the talking points about spending cuts focused on

our defense budget instead of programs that rebuild our infrastructure, and handle our entitlements and benefits programs?

Our defense budget is full of more wasteful spending then ss, medicare and Medicaid combined. I blame rummy for that. He did his best to out source as much of the military to the private sector.

While I am on this rant I need to add this. Why in the world do we need to have charity organizations for vets? Why!?! The country should be taking care of the vets not 3rd party outside supposed not for profit orgs.

The other day a tv ad for the wounded warrior project was on. But I wasn't watching the tv, I was doing something. The point is I could only hear it and at first as the ad starts it sounds like an ad to be for victims of violence in America. Its not until about half way through that just by listening (not looking) can you tell its for wounded vets.

For the record, I am an Air Force Brat, (dad was 20 years in the data system design center stuff), and I married a Navy guy. The hubby started as enlisted, was a nuke served on the Enterprise, then went to OCS and retired after 20 years as Lt Commander. I have two nephews that are Army. One just left did 6 years, has messed up back now cause he was a airborne paratrooper thing and the other is an active duty officer. Not to mention my uncle was marine corp did 2 tours in nam.

The point of the background is I am not anti-military. But we gotta stop fueling the defense budget monster. It is way out of control. More out of control the ss, medicare and medicaid combined could ever think of becoming. Most of the cuts to the military would not effect the personal (active or retired or DOD personal). Most of the budget right now isn't even about the people that serve or who haved served. Most of the money goes to out side private sector corporations and businesses. Thats gotta stop. It is not only hurting our military's ability to function well. It is also bankrupting our country.

So when can we have defense spending cuts?
