Also we have mass shootings (five or more) regularly in the inner city...media won't cover, partly cause it is that regular.

How about instead of "this kind of gun was used by "so-and-so" to kill people, say "the victim was killed by this kind of gun." STOP saying the names of the murderers! Give them zero notice on TV. If we stop glorifying murderers, maybe people will stop thinking it is cool to shoot people.
