Fox News Corners Trump on Siding With China in MAGA Betrayal

Donald Trump has suddenly announced a complete one-eighty on his campaign pledge to American farmers that he’d stop Chinese nationals buying up land in the U.S.

Fox News host Sean Hannity pressed him on why he had abandoned his promise to intervene on Thursday during his trip to China.

“It’s not that I love it,” Trump said, as he conceded that his promise has been withdrawn.

Hannity said “thousands and thousands of acres of farmland, ranchland, and land near military installations” are being purchased by Chinese buyers.

Farm-dependent counties in the U.S. voted overwhelmingly for Trump in 2024; 78 percent of them backed Trump, which was up even from the strong support for his first term.

In Beijing, Trump was suddenly arguing that it would hurt farmers if he went ahead with his pledge. He said pulling out the external investment would force down land prices.

“You want to see farm prices drop, you wanna see farmers lose a lot of money? Just take that out of the market,” the president said.

Republicans are already voting for Democrats in numerous elections over the past year, including in FL, TX, GA and other states.

There have been races where it would have been mathematically impossible for the Democrat candidate to win without Republican votes.

The farthest anyone has gone was to tell me he wasn't going to vote because both parties are the same.

Magats hate Democrats they will never, ever vote for a Democrat.

Just yesterday my son-in-law was talking to a Magat friend of his on the phone. I told him to put it on speaker. I told the Magat, thank you for voting for Trump, I could only get $35 worth of gas in my car and now I can get $60 of gas in my car. He agreed with every shot I took at Trump but when I asked him if he was going to vote Democrat, he said NO, I'm not voting.

Of which the cultists are a shrinking but still vocal segment.

I’m talking about registered republicans who have already, verifiably voted for Dems in the past year.

4. I don't see his reasoning

He's thinking as a real estate developer, not a farmer.
He's narcissistic, no empathy, can't put himself in another's shoes...can only consider what's important to himself, not any others.
Unfortunately he can't control it as he's not self aware.

This is just one example.
He's surrounded by a huge team of flying monkies.

5. Farm prices?

He doesn't understand the basic principle, that China buying all this land raises the value of the land and thus the taxes. Farmers own thousands of acres of land, if that land's taxable value increases just a bit per acre it can bankrupt them. And farmers are constantly buying and selling parts of their land depending on their needs that year, when the prices are jacked up because of foreign purchases, it hampers that flexibility.

But he caved, because he's weak and a clown who was being humiliated and made fun of the last few days.

Gas and fertilizer prices are up by 50 - 70%. Drought and other weather disasters are rampant due to climate change. The Big Tech data centers are draining the aquifers.

The upside is that Big Oil and Big Tech are making out like bandits. Just look at that S&P!

The Republican Agenda is not good for farmers and other working folks.
