It’s bullshit for the Washington Post to call this looting of the Treasury a “deal“ and an “agreement.” The Trump regime is self-dealing to create an agreement between Trump and Trump, with no judge allowed to weigh in. It’s a dictator stealing from the people.

In unusual deal, a $1.8 billlion fund that could help Trump allies is created.
The agreement to end the Trump family’s lawsuit against the IRS grants a commission broad authority …

Trump’s deal to drop suit against IRS creates $1.8B ‘Anti-Weaponization Fund’

The deal, laid out in a document signed by acting attorney general Todd Blanche, could result in taxpayer payouts to the president’s allies.

President Donald Trump has agreed to drop his family’s lawsuit against the IRS as part of a highly unusual agreement that establishes a nearly $1.8 billion fund to compensate those who, like him, have claimed they have been targets of a “weaponized” justice system.

"ABC News reported that the exact settlement amount would be the historically resonant figure of 1,776,000,000 dollars..."

To really rub our noses in it, Trump will probably accept the check on the 4th of July, during his festivities marking the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. Someone please tell me this isn't actually happening, and the Democrats in Congress will stop this looting of the public treasury.

Democrats should do exactly what Trump has done with the E. Jean Carroll award: appeal the judgement at every level, using every possible legal argument, then delay, delay, delay the entire process till it grinds to a halt.

Trump has used every legal maneuver imaginable to keep from paying Carroll the million$ he owes her. Democrats, or a group of private citizens in a class action, must file a suit to stop this theft or, at the very least, drag it out till a Democratic Congress (or president) is in power.
