Stepping up on soap box and starting a rant:
I am SO sick of any steps forward being met with the absolute stupidest comments imaginable. I was just reading about this vaccine on Facebook and the comments were absolutely sickening.
So, you don't trust the MRNA vaccines. Then don't fucking get in line to take them. But your stupidity and uneducated, mouth-breathing, ill-informed dumbass should not be commenting on something that someone might CHOOSE to take and actually help save some lives.
I am just sick of dumb (yes, that's with a "B"!!!!) being able to have a voice. I want to go back to a time when, if you were stupid, you were embarrassed and you kept your mouth shut.
Here's the story in case anyone hasn't read the news release:

(17,815 posts)Lost a family member to melanoma many years ago and I marvel at every advancement. When that person died, there was nothing available. If it were today, they could easily be helped.
So, for me ANYTHING that takes us forward is a good thing, and as long as one is free to do it or not do it, I can never understand the problem.

(4,114 posts)Putin I'd imagine in particular, giving he's been a murderous tyrant for 20+ years now. He clearly cherishes the deaths of others.
I'd add that one could turn the wingnuts comments around, and imagine Darwin will be taking care of them. In the end, people dying due to their stupidity isn't the worst thing that could happen, though unfortunately it's unlikely many people will die of melanoma before they produce whatever offspring they're going to. Some of them will not be contributing VOTES as a result though, so there's that

(24,629 posts)I've knew they wanted a "walled garden" (somewhat like Apple's) that would capture people and audiences. I also saw that their implementation was a P-O-S (back then, better now.)
I do have some relatives that use it for communications but I won't ever be back on.

(17,815 posts)I am on Facebook mainly because I am in animal rescue and that is the main source of information for my area.
But even if we don't read the comments, participate in them, etc., they are still there and there are a bunch of STUPID people who feel the need to condemn anything science related.
