Im so disappointed and angry. For the last few weeks Ive been listening to what I thought was an incredibly inspirational song. Celebrate Me by Ingarose. Today I decided to google her to put a face to this amazing voice, only to find that its AI generated. The voice felt very soothing and familiar. I had my son listen to it and soon as he heard it he said she sounds like Andra Day.
So now you can just create a #1 song from AI. This is disturbing and disgusting.
Even worse the song was done by R&B producer Dallas Austin.

(366 posts)That's not a good song. I only made it through about 30 seconds before I had to turn it off I disliked it so much. The voice was slurring like she had a mouthful of marbles. The backing music is generic slow blues. I've heard open mic night performances better.
There's so much good music out there made by actual humans who can actually play instruments and sing. How far music has fallen for this crap to be #1. This is SO depressing.
What has become of music?

lifetime of hard work, thousands of hours of practice, talent and artistry were lifted and stolen without their concent. Second when the musicians and hours of work and creativity are bypassed in the creation of the music itself.
Dont know whats so hard to understand?

(8,312 posts)Theres no soul in AI generated music. Just not the same. Especially after my son pointed out that it sounds like Andra Day. Makes me wonder if they tried to copy her voice.

(4,114 posts)This song is not even topping "streaming counts" lists. It's topping the iTunes purchase chart. Something I'm reading is somewhat easy to game because not that many people are actually purchasing songs these days. There are days when your song could become #1 on this chart for that day if you just bought like 250 copies in iTunes, not even joking.

Kid Rock and Nicki Minaj like to brag about their songs being #1 on iTunes, as you'll learn from the above article.

(46,430 posts)The only AI artist I know of is Neuro-sama, and everyone knows she's AI (even sounds like one). However, AFAIK, many of her original songs (not her covers) are done by real people such as Monii, and Asteroid Music Team.
Monii's version of "Life":
