... but he spent much of his life helping to elect Repukes and he was actually very good at it. He drew the line with Chump and suddenly no Repuke candidates wanted to hire Rick to manage their campaigns. That's what led to his decision to leave the Repuke Party, or maybe they left him, I'm not sure.
Shortly after that he wrote the book "Everything Trump Touches Dies," which is a classic. I read that book when it first came out, and that was when I realized that Rick Wilson wasn't pulling our legs. He's not what you'd call a "progressive" but he does believe in social/liberal causes, he absolutely detests Chump and the MAGAs, and he's a fiscal conservative.
We have a big tent, and there's lots of room for Rick and others like him.
It never should have been in the first place but for the insane times we live in. 
Rick Wilson was a Republican political consultant who devoted his entire adult career toward driving people to switch their rationality off and vote Republican no matter what. He's one of the people who MADE MAGA. There is nothing he has to say now that wasn't being said a quarter century ago. It's just that a quarter century ago it was liberals saying it, and God knows, we can't let THOSE PEOPLE say anything in front of a microphone.
