And Trump would exploit that of course. CA doesn’t have a great rep for timely totals. I think you can submit a mail ballot on Election Day.

5. California goes out of its way to make sure all valid votes

are counted. This takes time. I suppose we could do like some GOP run states and toss ballots if the signatures look even a tiny bit off, or if the mail ballots aren’t put into the envelopes correctly, but we’re going for accuracy and inclusion, not the arbitrary deadline of some pundits.

Yes, if a ballot is postmarked before the close of polls on election day and it is received within the legal window (varies, currently 10 days iirc) it is accepted. Also, people who are in line at a polling place when the polls close are allowed to stay and cast a ballot. Dear Leader and his minions desperately want voting on election day only, since that favors Republicans.
