This is a direct quote from trump right now in PA as he addresses the economy

Trump: I met a great police officer. New York's finest. And he said, "Sir, I want to thank you. My wife didn't think much of me. We were having marital difficulty. She thought I was nothing." I looked at him. The muscles were all over the place. He didn't suffer from that.

He is on the campaign trail today trying to tout the economy. Here's what I think: that is the best economic message I have ever heard, Sir. Please keep using it until the midterms so that big strong Americans can hear it and be moved to tears by your greatness.

His lips are moving, but for the most part they really aren't listening to him, but rather the voices in their own heads.

I think they all have their own universal translators in their heads, like the ones they used in Star Trek and it translates gibberish into their bias. Once Trump figured that out, he just rattled off whatever popped into his head knowing there would be no repercussions. Hannibal Lector, sharks, electric boats, dishwashers.......

I feel I saw the turning point in 2016 when he exclaimed that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose any of his supporters. He seemed genuinely amazed and after that, pretty much anything was okay. And when the Access Hollywood tape emerged and it didn't destroy him politically, he was completely unchained.

After an extended initial outburst of uncontrolled laughter upon reading that, I contacted my son to read it to him. There are reasons to believe the fella's not doing well. Yet the maga republicans in DC have to pretend they understand and fully agree with the point the president made in a poetic, if not bibical, fancy fashion.
