(13,621 posts)I say most because some of the "tea party" people right at the start, didn't have such a bad idea. They were steamed about our tax dollars going for bailouts. Of course that could have led to protests on Wall Street and serious pressure to get all of our money back, prosecuting those responsible and make sure it didn't happen again. Guys like Armey and the Kochs couldn't have that though. They had to step in and steer the "movement" in their direction.

If we could put aside our differences for a couple of years and just worked on our common problems, we could accomplish much. Our biggest hurdle is the differences in our solutions.
But the Republicans promise no abortions and the Democrats promise universal health and we just keep fighting each other. Both sides never realizing that they can not be given what they desire.
We are even getting so bad that many, even here on DU do little more than name calling. The Democrats are even starting to call each other names just as the Republicans do. I think it is all by design.

(13,621 posts)friends. Even when they deserve it. I especially avoid calling them stupid, at least directly. Some of my posts trashing FOX "News" and their worshipers may be somewhat offensive to them, I figure that's their own fault. No one forces them to watch that crap.
The real assholes want us to hate each other while they go about looting the country. Thats' what they accomplished with the teabaggers. They made it all about God, guns and abortion.
