I frankly don't believe he's going to be partisan, but that's how the media is spinning it.

I want to be surprised by the real "state of our union." I want to be angry, incensed, and disgusted by the negatives in our society, but bad news doesn't shock me anymore.
I wish to hell it did...

(4,482 posts)P.S. The "address" isn't constitutionally mandated. Only the report. It can be written and delivered by courier to congress. There is not requirement to POTUS to deliver it verbally or in person.

Article II, Section 3:
"He shall from time to time give to Congress information of the State of the Union and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient. Article II, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution
