To make a long story short a powerful person went to jail for doing something wrong. Now why can't that happen in real life?

(614 posts)Money. This country worships money, if you place anything else as a higher priority like I don't know...prosperity and equality you're labeled a radical socialist who's out to steal everything you have..chiefly your MONEY. For their part the wealthy elite have skillfully preached this new religion, and by putting all the right people in their pocket they've made themselves answerable to no one. Capitalism has become the new feudalism really, with people like the Koch brothers as modern kings.
Not everyone worships money though. While virtually everyone else bailed out the bankers, Iceland instead jailed theirs. Crazy stuff, holding the most powerful and wealthy individuals responsible for their actions.
