Guns and "freedom"

I work with guys who are afraid that their "freedoms" are eroding based on the feeling that their guns will be limited or taken...that there are cameras at intersections...etc...

Meanwhile they are economic slaves to their jobs. Barely getting by. Not owning any real estate....etc.

The sad truth is that wealth=freedom in the USA but instead of waking up to how we are being screwed economically by the upper-class, the working-class is focusing on relatively trivial subjects and blaming those poorer than themselves for this false scarcity created by the wealthy.

Also, it's a fatal mistake of hubris for us to pretend that only Red state-types are gullible or susceptible to foolish thinking.

The OP's point about wealth is still entirely valid, but we must remember that the Left is every bit as vulnerable to deception and self-deception as the Right.

5. Gun ownership is the opiate for nutters while their real freedoms are stripped away.

I would wager that most gun-nutters were the ones cheering shitbag bush on the most while he stripped away their rights.
