Daniels' rebuttal to the SOTU is an incomprehensible mix of familiar right-wing talking points and bizarre ramblings.
He started out pretty well, being respectful of the President and giving him credit for a few accomplishments. But then he went off on Barack's optimism and chastised him for not having a program of gloom and doom.
Even more bizarre was his wrapping up this "thought" by saying "We will always be a nation of 'haves' and 'soon to haves'" which makes absolutely no sense if his gloomy forecast was accurate.
This guy is done in Indiana, and his speech last night was one more nail in the Republican Party's coffin.
It took great determination and fortitude to listen to his entire screed. I wouldn't recommend you do it.

Daniels was playing on the masses stupidity and ignorance, hoping that they wouldn't catch the irony.

(265 posts)and he came off as being totally insincere. He was trying to spin the Republican rhetoric into pretending their policies will protect the 99%. Anyone who has been listening to them all along will not buy it.

(11,101 posts)You're "soon to have" your own business clearing over $250,000 a year. Better start hating taxes on the rich, my friend, cause you're "soon to have" the government talking all your "soon to have wealth".
