General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsSo, President Obama did NOT issue Executive Orders today.
The 23 'proposals' are NOT executive orders. They are Executive Actions/Proposals.
Three were actually 'memoranda' (which also are NOT an executive orders):

(37,648 posts)tries to pass executive orders or any of those measures thru executive powers, the Congress will immediately revoke them, and will pursue the unconstitutionality of it to teh nth degree (meaning they'll take it to the Supreme Court, I guess).

(3,333 posts)You're right that they are Executive actions.
The proposal is a specific set of requests for legislation from the Congress including background checks on all gun transactions, a ban on high capacity magazines, and an assault weapons ban.

(1,191 posts)Gun sales are through the roof, more people are arming themselves before any of these "bans" that are being discussed go into effect.
If he actually wanted to increase gun sales, get more guns into the hands of the public, and help the NRA swell their ranks, he could not of done any better.
This is a fact, so go ahead and call me a gun nut parroting NRA talking points, this just means you got nothing else to say.
