The portion of that crowd that will say "been on the pill/used a condom/etc." is a distinct minority, most (or at very least, the ones driving their political agenda) are against birth control too.

A woman who is constantly pregnant and/or caring for young children usually cannot get an education or keep a good job and she will forever be dependent on her Lord and Master husband. Having control of her fertility gives her control of her life, which is the part they find really offensive.
