The portion of that crowd that will say "been on the pill/used a condom/etc." is a distinct minority, most (or at very least, the ones driving their political agenda) are against birth control too.
What they're against is unauthorized sex (even for married couples).

Having control of her fertility gives her control of her life, which is the part they find really offensive.
