JC Penney Assault Rifle Guy - Forgotten Myspace Account Disturbing Pics

I did a little bit of internet sleuthing based on the lazy reporting and limited information the mainstream media did on this guy...

It took me a few minutes but I soon found his old myspace account. In it, Joseph Kelley poses with lots of pictures of him holding various guns and pointing them at the camera. The account hasn't been accessed in 3 years but gives a good look at the mindset of this kid. He isn't much different than many other nuts who went on to kill people with their beloved weapons. I couldn't verify anything about him being in the military and I have strong reservations that he ever was. The Marine Corps, which he stated he would like to join, has a minimum 4 year enlistment. He wasn't in the military as of 2009 and he claims to be a military veteran which means he isn't in the service now. If he was, I suspect he was either kicked out or got out early due to mental or physical disability.

Based on his own comments and pictures, this young man is obsessed with guns and killing. Most of the pictures hes posted have him holding or pointing guns, knives, hatchets, machetes, and, what appears to be some sort of zombie killing pike. He has an apparent obsession with killing and shooting as evidenced by his pictures, books and movies listed. He is not the kind of person I would feel comfortable with carrying a gun around in public or anywhere else. These pictures are not much different than the ones that show up in the media after a mass murderer goes on a killing spree. I hope the media follows up on what took me 20 minutes to find out about this guy.

guns, military books) etc. He also has the magazine Firehouse.

I worked in the reloading industry back in the 90's and knew gun owners the world over.

We did see a lot of pics with people and their guns but mostly of them target shooting, showing them at their reloading equipment, and sometimes just a plain old pic of someone with a new gun.

This gun seems 'off' compared to most I ever dealt with.

It is not the guns he likes so much as how they make him feel and look.

I know people with a practical arsenal who keep them all locked up unless out hunting or target shooting, his items seem strewn about (which is his right of course, but it can tell you something about the person).

The last pic is worth looking at a little closer as well (the pet carrier and pet bed which does not seem to be in use at this time and other things....send the pics to criminal minds for a profile lol).

My interpretation:

For example 3rdSFG's AO is sub-saharan Africa, now this could be because he has read too many soldier of fortune magazine, or much scarier, is that in his militia group they have already broken down AOR and AO (areas of responsibility and area of operation). That is scary.
He then goes on to say he can't sing, guns are his thing, that he has a king size bed (which doesn't seem the case since his pic shows a nightstand in between two beds, probably twins), and that he doesn't have a girlfriend and probably won't ever have one.

Sadly, he is very lonely and probably easily manipulated. I hope he gets the help he needs.
