McConnell (R-moran) vows to block gun control measures

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/01/19/mcconnell-vows-block-gun-control-measures/1848103/

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, bracing for a challenge in the 2014 elections, promised Saturday to try to block President Barack Obama's gun-violence initiatives in a taped telephone recording sent across Kentucky.

"President Obama and his team are doing everything in their power to restrict your Constitutional right to keep and bear arms," McConnell said in the recording. "Their efforts to restrict your rights, invading your personal privacy and overstepping their bounds with executive orders, is just plain wrong."

Jesse Benton, McConnell's campaign manager, said the call went out to "several hundred-thousand gun owners and hunters across the state."

It came the same day that "Guns Across America" rallies were held in state capitals across the country, including Frankfort, where participants cradling guns jeered Obama's plans to clamp down on assault weapons and stiffen background checks.

We Republicans are the ones who should be doing that, sense we've had a lot more practice at it.
We're the ones who fuck over the populace and we're damn good at it!

Frederica Cade's blog over at WordPress has a recent post about income Mitch McConnell (McConartist) has received from Fox News and from Heritage.

Specifically she writes:

Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell can add another line of work to his credentials. Previously I reported about his retirement plan with the Heritage Foundation and well now you can say the senator has branched out and is working at Fox News. I should ad [sic] also that Mitch McConnell has added the Heritage Foundation as earned income. Prior years the retirement plan for the Heritage Foundation was listed but no earned income was listed.

Political activity Section 501(c)(3) organizations are subject to limits or absolute prohibitions on engaging in political activities. Interesting, that’s all the Heritage Foundation does. The Heritage Foundation lists itself as a 501(c)(3) organization.

Frederica even posted a copy of Mitch's 'Earned and Non-Investment Income' statement to prove it.

With Mitch on the take from those two organizations, it only follows that he would be a mouthpiece for the NRA.

Sorry about that! The author of the McConnell post has taken the page down since I posted my reply on DU a few hours ago. No explanation - it's just gone. I searched the site too to see if it had been named but still was not found. Who knows. Maybe she got a threatening call from the RNC? Maybe I will too if I don't self-delete?

Update: Even though the post was deleted I actually still had it open on one the many tabs on my browser window, so I was at least able to copy said 'Earned and Non-investment Income" statement showing Senator McConnell's income from both Fox and Heritage.

I wonder why she took the down the post?

day after day after day. And the media just keep playing out the same "No" routine day after day after day. You think he's at least be tempted to vote FOR something. But no, every single damn day its McConnell doesn't like this and John McCain doesn't like that.

Jesus, give it a fuckin' rest media. I think we get it, the perpetual oppositional defiant disordered politicians. They are old, the won't change. They might as well be wearing the leisure suits with the white shoes. Hello, its 2012 and we have a few problems people.

Could we at least please have some new corrupt white guy front men for the party of "No"?

You and the rest of your party are Heartless bastard's. In the wake of the senseless murder of babies and their teachers, you show outrage for cold steel. For all the death and distruction due to gun violence, over the years, this is your answer! Block it!
