OFFS. Katy Perry opens iInaugural Kids' Concert w/ highly inappropriate song.

"Lets go all the way tonight...". CNN anchor with an open mic practically moaned that it was not a song to sing to a bunch of kids. How do people make such dumb decisions?

One year ago we had to pull a theme song after people actually listened to the lyrics.

I can't say a goddam thing more but the song was "last Friday night".

And, it made sense to pull it, I guess! But it was a hell of a lot better than the second song we had to pull!

I still love the Katy Perry tune we had to pull, though!

Kids translate the meaning of songs (and jokes) they don't understand into terms they know. Every kid has heard the expression "go all the way" in some context, and they'll relate in some way.

If they actually know what it means, then we're too late, aren't we?

Who, in 2004, sang an anti-American song.

God, I hope they don't have a field day with this.

But you know what, let them be pissed! They are going to be angry for the next 4 years!

All the way to success, all the way until you win?

More research, the song is "Firework".

Quite appropriate to the Obama campaign from the beginning.

Fuck CNN.

Kids love it. It's about teenage relationships and the intense emotions involved in such. Maybe we should all pretend those feelings don't exist and scorn our kids for their wicked feelings?

I know kids are singing it but I also know how irritated I'll be if it gets jumped on by the RW. Y'all are probably right. It was silly to being it up.

something made you cringe a bit without it being turned into something broader. I think it can be harder to do that when writing online.
