Cleveland Police are investigating the death of a 6 year old girl after she was shot in the face

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Police Homicide Unit is currently investigating the death of a 6-year-old girl Saturday.

Police said the incident happened around 1:45pm when officers responded to the 4100 block of East 116th street for a child shot.

Officers, along with EMS located the young girl with severe trauma to her head and transported her to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals that the girl may have suffered a self inflicted gunshot wound to the face.

Officers are still on scene and investigating and no arrests have been made at this time.
