(31,464 posts)Even for Joe, this is ridiculous. All Joe ever talks about is himself, and now he's giving the president a hard time for a private remark made his daughter. What a tool.

(14,061 posts)I hope Mika had a good comeback to that nonsense...I had to change the channel. My blood pressure can't spike that high at 7 a.m.
Oh, and Joe: Here's the context. After Obama took the oath, Sasha said, "Yay! You didn't mess up!" (Although that comment would have been better directed to Roberts.) Obama: "I did it."
Just typical Dad-Kid dialogue, Joe. Nothing more. Take off the tin hat now.

That was embarrassing for all of them on that segment.
Joe, don't waste our time with pure D "shit," okay? Trying to tarnish Obama's big day makes you look vewy, vewy small...

(6,996 posts)The first hour was one long Joe Scum filibuster. He was lamenting the plight of today's GOP compared to the "golden days" of his time in the House....again. It just went on and on. Even when he turned to the panel he interrupted each one of them.
I had to turn it off. I'll click back on when the ceremonies begin.

(31,706 posts)Joey likes to think he's some kind of "moderate" but those of us who were cognizant in the 90s know far different. He was part of the "Class of '94" that started the downhill spiral of both the rushpublican party and the legislative branch. He tried to oust Gnewt cause he thought he wasn't "conservative" enough. He was also on the Judiciary committee that oversaw the Clinton inquisition (now Joey claims to be a BFF with Bill and Hill...:puke and probably masturbated to the Starr report for months. He pissed off enough people that he was passed over for bigger office and left the beltway with a wimper not a bang. He's lucky lowly MSNBC needed someone to replace Alan Keyes.
I honestly think Joey has "Raygun Delusion Syndrome"...he thinks he's the next "great expectorator" and that the rushpublicans will one day beg him to lead them to the promise land. Then he goes back in the bathroom for another wank with the Starr Report.

Obama replied "I did it!"
Joe is outraged that Obama always makes it about himself. The irony is thick.

...Joe Scarborough was speaking about new beginnings. He also mentioned how Democrats and Republicans alike love inaugurations whether its a Republican or Democrat being sworn into office.
When I heard this, I thought this doesn't seem to conform to Joe's personal behavior. Nor would it conform to his following comments. As he continued, Joe couldn't help telling everyone how he was taken aback when he heard Obama say, "I did it."
Prior to watching Morning Joe, I hadn't seen or heard about this event. But I knew no one would turn to an 11 year old child to brag about how they did it. That's just silly!
I discovered this is how ABC News reported the event:
--
As he hugged his wife and daughters, Sasha said, "Good job, Daddy."
"I did it," he said.
"You didn't mess up," she answered.
--
What's even more disturbing is neither Joe nor other Republicans seem to ever want to give the POTUS the benefit of the doubt. Even when logic dictates otherwise. But, this is what Republicans do.
They met inauguration night to sabotage the POTUS and pretended to work with him on health care reform. Shortly thereafter they began hurling lies and personal insults at him for the next several months.
I realize Scarborough is not a journalist, but no one likes it when one makes things up to make others look bad. And if one is trying to get both parties to work together, this is not the way to do it.
After he finished criticizing the president's perceived arrogance, Joe began talking about how we have to reform Medicare because Medicare is bankrupting America. What's just as revealing is what they often omit.
When Republicans discuss the budget, they're never willing to mention that the budget of the military industrial complex is bigger than those of the next 19 countries combined!*
