He said his goal was to be a "transformational" president, like Reagan. By that, I knew at the time that he meant he wished to reclaim the national dialogue and recast it in a liberal light, as Reagan had done for conservative values three decades earlier.

I think he accomplished that today. Or at least began the next four years of changing the terms of discussion about our political philosophy. I believe he will succeed. The time is ripe for forcing Republicans to retreat on their strict philosophy and claim to be "progressive" along the terms Obama outlined today.

put up or shut up. They will shut up because they've become the Party of No - no ideas, no solutions, no respect, and no ability to run a socialist enterprise (government) in the 21st century society. They have become a rigid, anti-socialist ideology...rigor mortis has set in... Their ideas are Big Government Losers - abortion and immigration come to mind. Unless you have a certain social stratification or you're a complete moron, no one is interested in their platform.

“I think very important historically because this this was really Obama unbound,” he said on Fox News. “And I think what’s most interesting is that Obama basically is declaring the end of Reaganism in this speech.”
