Another letter I wrote
Just had to write another letter to the editor...I think we need to write letters to reach others..not just the true believers...
Just sent this one off..
It's hard to imagine a clearer example of the differences between Republicans and the Democrats than watching Fox news and MSNBC on Inauguration Day.
On MSNBC, there was hope and enthusiasm and a sense inclusion; of a greater America.
Fox news featured Bill O'Reilly and Bernie Goldberg, whining as usual about the “liberal” news media. O'Reilly could not understand how there's been such a change in the attitude of the people. Neither one was willing to acknowledge America's rejection of the obstructionist behavior and the "feed the rich" policies of the Republicans.
Then there was Sean Hannity and Karl Rove. Karl had his little chalkboard with a whole list of things which the president had mentioned in his speech, and he assured viewers that none of them could be accomplished. That list included climate change, immigration reform, and keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill.
Fox was a perfect reflection of today's broken Republican party ; people clueless about what is going on in the nation, sitting on the sidelines blaming everyone but themselves for their own fall from grace.
