The President and First Lady set an awesome example as a loving couple and loving parents

These are REAL family values.

It is so obvious how much they are in love with each other. You could see it in that first dance at the inaugural ball. That's something you just can't fake. They are also excellent parents. I love that grandma moved in to help care for the children and the fact that the girls have chores and responsibilities. You can see how close the family is when they are together. I think they set a wonderful example for all.

And, I also love how they have publicly widened the definition of family. They are secure enough that they see it poses no threat to their marriage or their family. And, they also want others to be able to share that same love and closeness no matter the composition of their family.

I don't think we should undervalue how important this has been and will continue to be in the next four years.

Goofing around, checking their I phones. They seem to be without artifice.

Just lovely.

Repeal the Patriot Act. End domestic spying. Stand strong against indefinite detention.

He announced yesterday to millions that he will fight for marriage equality. That's a big fuckin' deal.

I was pointing out positive things about family values. I have a list of grievances as well and wish lots of things were different. That does not prevent me from seeing positive things.

And, frankly, marriage equality affects far more people than indefinite detention. If there we huge numbers of people being "disappeared," I'm sure we would know about it.
