My supervisor could not understand why I don't sympathize with Phil Mikelson's whining

about paying 63% in taxes (if that is what he IS actually paying).

We were listening to the Valenti and Foster show on WXYT FM 97.1 in Detroit and Valenti said he agrees with Phil Mickelson. My supervisor said he agrees with Phil too and I said I don't sympathize with Phil.

That's still $13,000,000 a year, based on $30,000,000 in endorsements and $5 million in winnings. That little fucker can't get by on a million bucks a month? What a tool.

The federal tax code is progressive. The top rate is 39% of adjusted gross income over X high number. He needs to get a better accountant.

And extra 3.8% on cap gains, interest and div income.

So...39 fed plus 3.8 ACA plus 6.2 SS plus 1.45 Medicare plus 13.3 Cali=63.75

I did not know the ACA added 0.9% to non-income tax.
I do not see how you can claim a 63.75% tax burden.

IF you add every tax won hot add the Inheritance tax?
Why not the GASoline Tax?

Mikelson made his money in sports not as a genius scientist, engineer or financial adviser. Why doesn't he sympathize with the families of people who are dead because they couldn't afford health care?

mushroomed, due mostly to low income tax rates on great wealth, in large part so the Phil Michelsons of the world could quickly accumulate wealth (keep more of their own money) and equally in part, to starve the beast to give politicians an excuse to gut social security and Medicare.

That is RW propaganda.

The top tier isn't even that high. What's the top income tier? 40%???

Mickelson needs to fire and then sue his accountant for malpractice if that's what he's paying.

than other athletes because they compete individually and unlike certain team sports there are no guaranteed contracts.

All I could think is what bullshit. First off he must play with many Europeans who pay far more in taxes than Phil does. Plus if you're successful and likeable enough the endorsement money will continue long after you're no longer playing. I heard a reporter say that Arnold Palmer made 39 million last year and he hasn't played seriously in almost 2 generations.
