Will Lessons From Down Under Stem the Undertaker Here?
In 1996, 28-year-old Martin Bryant finished his lunch in a café in the seaside resort of Port Arthur and pulled out a semi-automatic rifle. In the first 15 seconds of his attack, he killed 12 and wounded 10.

15 SECONDS!!!!!
will you gun bunnies shut the f up about the 2nd amendment for 15 f'in seconds and imagine what being in a situation like that would be like?
what the f good would your gun do? (and don't say you could shoot him and save people. the guy that stopped Laughner had a gun and didn't use it because he was too busy tackling him while he RELOADED)
you want to be a 'hero', so just let shit like that happen?
30 round mags are no big deal?
edit: the AZ guy was helped by a 70-something year old guy who had already been shot, so there's a case for less deadly ammo.

(2,117 posts)they have to negotiate with the gun lobby, unfortunately, so...
they have to start with something to give away.
you've got to admit it is better than the previous one.
or try to, at least.

(30,058 posts)The weapons of war are designed to be used in war. Anyone who says they need large capacity weapons must really not shoot well. The crap put out by the NRA is just crap. They are in the business of selling guns and ammo. I used to have respect for the NRA but they are not interested in the hunter. If they was really interested they would push for calmess and restraint.

(28,189 posts)I've read a few of your posts and support most of them... please just try a little restraint when using cuss words.
It doesn't really cast a good light on you or your message (which should be heard).
You will have more dramatic effect to your posts by doing so, besides this site does not restrict the full word, so there is not really a reason to use abbreviations and hyphenated/asterisked out words.

(14,195 posts)support. Lets start by limiting magazine clips and doing background checks on every gun purchase. Then lets ADD a requirement that all ammo purchased faces the same license and recording checks that sudafed does. That would be a start....

Godzilla vs. Hedorah
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Godzilla vs. Hedorah (ゴジラ対ヘドラ Gojira tai Hedora?), is a 1971 Japanese science fiction kaiju film produced by Toho. Directed by Yoshimitsu Banno and featuring special effects by Teruyoshi Nakano, the film starred Akira Yamauchi, Toshie Kimura, and Hiroyuki Kawase. The 11th film in the Godzilla series, the film had a strong anti-pollution message with director Banno being inspired after visiting a polluted beach near Yokkaichi.
Plot
The microscopic alien lifeform Hedorah feeds on Earth's pollution and grows into a poisonous, acid-secreting sea monster. After it attacks Dr. Yano and his young son Ken, scarring them both, Hedorah's toxic existence is revealed to the public. Ken has visions of Godzilla fighting the world's pollution, and insists Godzilla will come to mankind's aid against Hedorah.
Hedorah evolves into an amphibian form, allowing it to move onto land to feed on additional sources of pollution. Hedorah is confronted by Godzilla. Hedorah, only an amphibian at the time, is easily overpowered by Godzilla and retreats into the sea. He returns shortly thereafter in a flying saucer shape demonstrating new, even deadlier forms which it can switch between at will.
